Evaluation method

Preparatory analysis

The completed surveys are given careful study and analysis by Vigeo Belgium. Vigeo is known the world over for its expertise in analysing and assessing socially responsible enterprises.

Thorough evaluation

Following the Vigeo Belgium analysis, entries are evaluated and adjudged by a professional jury.

Have you entered for the Solidaritest Company Award and obtained a very high score on the solidarity scale? Then the Solidaritest jury may ask you to provide more information. On the strength of this information and the answers you gave in the survey, your business will win a Solidaritest Company Award.

The jury also handles disputes and has the power to prevent companies involved in socially irresponsible practices from taking part in the Solidaritest competition.

Strict definitions

To ensure a reliable and unequivocal adjudication, Solidaritest applies strict definitions of solidarity and the groups targeted by solidarity initiatives. These definitions allow the jury to evaluate all participating businesses on an equal footing.

Objective benchmarks

The adjudication rests on a number of benchmarks. Vigeo Belgium derives these benchmarks from the statistical data. They relate to both external social solidarity and solidarity within the business itself.

Neutrality

If a member of the jury sits on the board of an enterprise participating in Solidaritest, he or she will not be entitled to cast a vote when that enterprise comes under consideration.

Confidentiality

Solidaritest treats the information you provide through the survey in the strictest of confidence. None of the information you provide is disclosed to third parties. Solidaritest only publishes the names of those businesses that win a Solidaritest Company Award and/or Solidaritest Best Practices Award. No rankings or quotas are published.
